Shimofuri Pepper Steak (霜降牛扒)
Shimofuri Pepper Steak (霜降牛扒) - HK$79 (pictured with mushrooms +$2 extra)

The Hungry Nobody score - 6/10
Simple, straight forward, and very decent quality steak for 'fast food' at a reasonable price.

What I did like was that first and foremost, the quality of the steak is quite good.  Well marbled, with a nice edge of gristle and fat and no tough sinew - it's definitely a good cut of meat for food court food.  The price isn't over the top either, you'd be hard pressed to find a proper sit-down that could serve you a good steak for under HK$80.  Throw in the fact that you can enjoy this delicious piece of meat as soon as it's finished cooking, I'm salivating already.  They use some pepper and a dollop of garlic butter to season the steak, which works for me, I think it's more than enough and you can still taste the original beef flavors.  I personally like adding the mushrooms, since it's only $2 more and it gives the dish a little more depth.  The other vegetables are nice as well, as they are freshly cooked (by you) so nothing is really mushy unless you're a slow eater.

What I didn't like was not much really.  I mean aside from your clothes and hair smelling a bit from the cooking process, and yeah, I would like the steak to be a little thicker.  Not really much in the complaints department here.

Note:  This comes with a standard sized bowl of rice.  You can also add $6 to include a soft drink or a soup.  There can be a lineup of 20+ minutes at peak times for this location.
