Egg Puffs (雞蛋仔) - 利強記北角雞蛋仔 (Wan Chai / 灣仔)

Egg Puffs (雞蛋仔)
Egg Puffs (雞蛋仔) - HK$15/28 one/two orders

The Hungry Nobody score - 4/10
Classic HK snack, classic failure after too much success

What I did like was that the egg puffs are made fresh and you get them right when they're done.  They're pretty much only good before they cool down, or else they get dry.  Mine were slightly crunchy, with oven fresh soft insides.  Just right!  They have simple yet unforgettable nostalgic flavor - similar to a simple crepe or waffle cone for ice cream.

What I didn't like was that these used to be fairly thick - when they pour the batter into their egg shell pans to cook, they seem to put less than before.  This makes the egg puffs thinner and they harden/dry faster.  At a price of HK$15, they are completely overpriced - put more batter in and maybe they could justify the price (and a higher score on here...)
