Pan Fried Turnip Cake (煎臘味蘿蔔糕) - Tim Ho Wan (Central) 添好運 (中環)

Pan Fried Turnip Cake (煎臘味蘿蔔糕)
Pan Fried Turnip Cake (煎臘味蘿蔔糕) - HK$14

The Hungry Nobody score - 6/10
Pretty good, but I'll pass next time unless I have a craving for them.

What I did like was that it's definitely less oily than it could be.  There are chunks of real turnip inside as well, and they didn't overdo it on the starch so the cake is not too heavy.  Although HK$14 isn't cheap, I've had much worse that cost more so value for money is alright.

What I didn't like was that there wasn't much in other ingredients.  Although you want to taste the turnip, I like having more chinese sausage (臘腸) and some dried shrimp (蝦米) in my turnip cake.  It could also have used a bit more time on the frying pan, as they taste much better with a nice crispy layer on the outside.
