Mung Bean Soup (綠豆沙) - Wong Kei Tong Shui (North Point) 王記糖水 (北角)

The Hungry Nobody score - 8/10
One of the better Mung Bean Soups I've had, most importantly... Not too sweet!

Wong Kei Tong Shui (North Point)

What I did like was that this is an old school style chinese soup dessert (糖水) that for once, wasn't too sweet!  So often the flavor gets overpowered by the sweetness, but Wong Kei keeps this one quite simple, using tangerine peel and some herbal grass to add some depth.  I'm not a huge fan of herbal grass in my Mung Bean Soup, but thankfully it was not very prominent in the overall flavor.  Not too watery and not too thick either, and a rather hefty portion for the large serving relative to the price.  Decent value!

What I didn't like was that...

Yep, nothing!  One of the better ones I've had.

Note:  I had take away this visit, but it was still nice and hot when I got home!
